UI 617th Inaugural Lecture: Prof. Isaiah Ademola Tackles Veterinary Parasitology in Milestone Address

The University of Ibadan (UI) has successfully hosted its 617th Inaugural Lecture, delivered by Professor Isaiah Oluwafemi Ademola. A distinguished scholar from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Ademola presented his landmark address on behalf of the Department of Veterinary Parasitology.

The presentation marked the 14th lecture in the university’s lineup for the 2025/2026 academic session.Combating the "Midnight Pestilence"Professor Ademola delivered his research findings under the compelling title, "Unmasking and Combating the Midnight Pestilence.

"The lecture focused extensively on the critical field of veterinary parasitology, addressing the hidden dynamics of parasitic infections that threaten livestock health, animal production, and public health frameworks across the region.

His discourse explored strategic interventions, diagnostic advancements, and long-term control measures needed to mitigate the biological and economic impact of parasitic pests.Following the presentation, the university management applauded Professor Ademola for his extensive scholarly contributions and dedicated research efforts, which continue to elevate the academic standing of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and drive innovations in animal healthcare.
