Umaru Musa Yar’adua University announces 9th to 13th combined Convocation Ceremony

The Management of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University is inviting all graduands of the undermentioned academic sessions to the institution’s 9th – 13th Combined Convocation ceremony scheduled to hold from Friday, 24th – Saturday, 25th May, 2024.

     i. 2017/2018 session

UMYU announces 9th - 13th combined Convocation Ceremony

    ii. 2018/2019 session

   iii. 2019/2020 session

  iv. 2021/2022 session

    v. 2022/2023 session

The occasion will start with a pre-convocation lecture to be delivered by the Guest Lecturer, Ambassador Prof. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, GCON, former Nigerian Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

The pre-convocation lecture schedule is as follows:

  • Date: Friday, 24th May, 2024
  • Time: 4:00pm
  • Venue: University Auditorium

Similarly, the Convocation ceremony is to feature the Investiture of the Chancellor of UMYU, Waziri (Sen.) Ibrahim M. Ida Ph.D, CON, Wazirin Katsina by the Visitor to the University, His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda Ph.D as follows:

  •  Date: Saturday, 25th May, 2024
  • Time: 8:00am
  • Venue: Convocation Arena.

Highlight of the Convocation ceremony, as released by the Registrar’s Office, is the award of 1st Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, Higher Degrees, Posthumous, as well as Honorary Doctorate Degrees to deserving individuals in the society.

Any graduand wishing to collect the academic gown will have to obtain an academic gown allocation form from their respective Faculties and the Postgraduate School and fill same before making the payment as scheduled below:

  • Undergraduate   N5,000.00
  • Postgraduate    N7,000.00
  •  Others     N10,000.00

It is to be noted that the academic gowns meant for all the graduands are very limited in number, as such; a first-to-come first-to-be-served policy will be applied.

And in the same vein, any graduand who makes payment before collecting and filling the Gown Allocation Form does so at his/her own risk as there will be no refund of the money paid to that effect.
