UMYU Workers Start Two-Week Warning Strike

Workers at Umaru Musa Yar'adua University (UMYU), Katsina, have begun a two-week warning strike from November 3, 2025. The strike involves four unions representing university staff.

The unions say the state government hasn't kept promises on staff welfare, university autonomy, and security of exams and records. Issues were raised in 2020 but remain unresolved despite patience and extra time given.
