Olajuyin Olaleye Ebenezer, a determined Nigerian scholar hailing from Efon Alaaye, Ekiti state, has achieved an inspiring feat in the field of biomedical science. Graduating with a second-class upper honors (2:1) in Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in Nigeria in 2018, Olajuyin embarked on a challenging journey to secure a fully funded PhD scholarship in the United States.

Facing 27 rejections out of over 30 applications, Olajuyin did not waver in his pursuit of higher education in the US. He worked diligently to enhance his academic profile, sought guidance from mentors, and persistently applied for scholarships.

His unwavering determination bore fruit when the University of Maine offered him a fully funded scholarship to study Biomedical Science. Out of more than 300 applicants, Olajuyin was one of the 12 students selected for the prestigious Graduate School of Biomedical Science and Engineering (GSBSE) program.

In August 2021, Olajuyin began his PhD journey at the University of Maine, where he is currently engaged in research related to cancer, immunology, inflammation, and hematology, under the guidance of Dr. Ling Cao, an associate professor of immunology.

Olajuyin's achievement serves as a source of inspiration for countless young Nigerians aspiring to study abroad and realize their academic ambitions.
