UNICAL Registrar Commends Non-Teaching Staff

The Registrar of the University of Calabar, Mr. Gabriel O. Egbe has commended the Non-Teaching staff of the Institution for all their sacrifices in keeping the University afloat, saying, he is profoundly proud of them.

The Registrar of the University of Calabar, Mr. Gabriel O. Egbe has commended the Non-Teaching staff of the Institution for all their sacrifices in keeping the University afloat, saying, he is profoundly proud of them.

The Registrar made the commendation during an interactive meeting with all cadres of Non-Teaching staff held at the University's Senate ChambersWhile commenting on staff members' hard work, he said; "I am proud of the Non-Teaching staff, for all the sacrifices you have been putting to keep the system afloat. Imagine if you are not doing what you are doing, what will the system look like? We can boast that the University is still what we used to know of it because of our work".

Mr. Egbe said the objective of the interactive meeting was to x-ray the activities of the staff of the University.

"I want to whisper to your ears, that things are changing. If you don't change your ways, you will regret it. What is your attitude towards work? I know there are some bad eggs among us. However, I assure you that for those who are punished unjustly, God will vindicate them.

"Try and learn about what you are doing. Do it diligently. Be committed, accountable and transparent. Avoid having queries in your file. You should be armed with information that will aid you in doing your work. Be proud of who you are in the system".

Highlighting some important duties of non-teaching staff of the University, the Registrar charged top senior officers to exercise absolute supervision of their subordinates.

"You must have effective control of your staff", he added.

While thanking those who have been praying, advising and encouraging him all through his stay as the Registrar, Mr Egbe added that their prayers are what has been sustaining him.

He mentioned that he is on the verge of leaving the office and he will be advertising for the position very soon, even as he hopes and prays that anyone who will succeed him should do better.

The Registrar also used the opportunity to inform staff of the upcoming Registry Day slated for 4th and 5th March 2024, urging them to cooperate with understanding as they avail themselves of the event.
