UNICAL VC Sets Up 36- Man Committee for UNICAL at 5O Celebration
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Florence Obi has approved the formation of a 36-man Organizing Committee to plan the proposed 'Unical At 50' celebrations under the leadership of the Provost of the College of Post Graduate Studies, Prof Eyong Ubana Eyong.

Other members of the committee as disclosed in a release by the Registrar of the University of Calabar include Alternate Chairman, Barr Paul Eshemomoh, National President, Unical Alumni, Prof Aboki Ochefu, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Rt Hon Bright Omokhodion and Director, Alumni Relations, Prof Michael Okom.
Others include Prof Saturday Etuk, Prof Ernest Asikong, Dr Anthonia Akpan, Prof Tony Akpan, Dr Juliet Ekpang, Prof Gertrude Njah, Dr Aniekan Eyo, Mrs Glory Egong and Dr Citizen Ekpo.
The List also includes Ibanga Udofia, Kayode Komolafe, CP Okon Effiong, Nkem Palmer, Ini Ukpuho, Lady Ezekiel Hart, and Baron Essien Akpabio.
Representatives of Faculties in the committee include Dr Paul Ebiala, Dr Martina Apie, Dr Emilia Oyira, Dr Akwaji Ngaji, Prof Ani Etokidem, Prof Ame Offiong, Prof Archibong Ukpong and Dr Pascal Ozung.

Other representatives in the committee are Dr Richard Ukpanukpong, Pharm Samuel Abu, Dr Ubong Udoh, Dr Denis Ogar, Dr Paul Ekpo, and Dr Oruk Egbai with Dr Dorn Cklaimz Enamhe as Secretary.
The Committee has been assigned a 4-point Terms of Reference which includes, planning and organization of a world-class ceremony to mark the University of Calabar at 50 as a huge success and establishing contact with relevant organizations, and individuals who may be of help financially or otherwise in the actualization of the event
Others include co-opting of other persons who may be useful in one way or the other in facilitating the success of the committee's assignment and carrying out any other function incidental to the success of the event.

The Registrar of the University of Calabar, Mr Gabriel Egbe in the release said that Management reposes confidence in the committee to ensure the success of the pivotal event.
Members of the committee shall be inaugurated virtually by the Vice Chancellor on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 5 pm.
