UNIDEL VC Attributes Achievements to Divine Guidance at Intercessory Prayer, Announces Leadership Transition

The Vice-Chancellor of University of Delta Agbor, Stella Chiemeke, has attributed the successes recorded during her five-year administration to divine direction, describing God as the foundational force behind institutional progress.

She made the remarks on April 1, 2026, during the 55th edition of the university’s Intercessory Prayer session held at the 1,000 Capacity Hall, where she delivered what attendees described as a reflective address marking the close of her tenure.

Chiemeke stated that every milestone achieved under her leadership was anchored on faith and institutional cooperation, noting that sustained support from the university community played a critical role in governance outcomes.

In a major transition announcement, she formally introduced Eric Eboh as her successor and confirmed the appointment of Esther Akpojuvie as the new Registrar, signaling a structured leadership handover within the institution.

The event also featured a sermon by Rev. Favour Edokpayi, who urged attendees to maintain spiritual discipline and uphold ethical conduct, drawing heavily on Christian doctrine centred on sacrifice and redemption.

Registrar Richmond Omagbemi delivered a vote of thanks, commending the university’s intercessory committee for sustained spiritual engagement and acknowledging Chiemeke’s leadership impact. He called on the university community to consolidate the gains of her administration.

The service, which included prayers, exhortations, and closing blessings by Rev. Celestine Obaigwe, marked a symbolic convergence of faith, governance, and institutional transition within the university system.
