UNIJOS and JUTH Formalize Partnership for Transplant Center Operations

The University of Jos (UNIJOS) in Plateau State has solidified its collaboration with the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) to oversee operations at the newly established Centre for Transplant Medicine. This partnership marks a significant step forward in providing accessible and high-quality healthcare services, particularly in the field of organ transplantation.

During the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Unijos's Vice Chancellor, Prof Tanko Ishaya, emphasized the center's role in enhancing healthcare accessibility for Nigerians at affordable rates. He highlighted the institution's utilization of funds from TETFund to establish the center, signaling a commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure within the country.
Dr. Bokop Bupwatda, the Chief Medical Director of JUTH, affirmed the center's capacity to conduct transplants for all human organs, underscoring the institution's readiness to meet the growing demand for such specialized medical services.
