UNILAG Calls for Entries for Prof. Ayo Ogunye Research Grant Competition 2024
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced the commencement of the annual Prof. Ayo Ogunye Research Grant Award Competition in Chemical Engineering for the year 2024.

The Board of Trustees overseeing the Prof. Ayo Ogunye Professorial Chair in Chemical Engineering has announced the commencement of the Prof. Ayo Ogunye Research Grant Award Competition for the year 2024. This prestigious grant offers an annual sum of Two Million Naira (N2,000,000.00) to support innovative research in Chemical Engineering.

Rules and Criteria

Grant Usage: The grant is exclusively allocated to the applicant for their research endeavors, covering expenses such as equipment, chemicals, and essential services related to the proposed research.

Application and Eligibility:
- Applicants must be affiliated with a Nigerian university or conducting independent research within Nigeria.
- Applications must be endorsed by the Head of the respective department, limiting submissions to one per department.
- Preference is given to early to mid-career researchers and those from less well-endowed institutions.
- Research students and those under supervision are eligible, provided their supervisor endorses the application.

Assessment and Reporting:
- Applicants need to outline the nature of their research, expected scientific outcomes, research location, and detailed expenditure breakdown.
- Two referees must endorse each application, with at least one from a different institution.
- Grantees must submit mid-year and end-of-project reports, including a financial statement and summary of research findings.

Other Conditions:
- Acknowledgment of the grant is required in all resulting publications from funded research.
- Grants are typically awarded for up to two consecutive years, and the Board reserves the right to adjust grant sizes as per annual fund availability.
- Modifications to criteria and additional conditions may be applied at the Trustees' discretion.
