The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Balogun Area of Ikire, when a luxurious bus traveling from Ibadan collided head-on with an 18-passenger bus from Osogbo. The impact of the crash resulted in multiple fatalities, including the five UNIOSUN students.
Eyewitness reports indicate that five other individuals also lost their lives in the horrific accident, bringing the total number of casualties to ten. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear, but authorities have since launched an investigation into the incident.
