UNILORIN Mass Communication Alumni Congratulate Prof. Abdulbaqi, Mustapha on New Appointments

The Mass Communication Alumni Association of the University of Ilorin (MCAAUIL) has extended congratulations to Prof. Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi on her election as the new Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences.

Prof. Abdulbaqi, who previously served as Head of the Department of Mass Communication and is the first female Professor of Mass Communication at the University, officially assumed office as Dean on 1st August 2025.

In a letter addressed to her, the President and General Secretary of MCAAUIL, Dr. Olawale Abdulgaffar Arikewuyo and Dr. Aderemi Adeagbo, expressed their admiration for her achievement, stating: “Those of us who passed through your tutelage are neither surprised nor startled by this achievement. Rather, we consider it a natural depth, and principled disposition.”

The association also congratulated other faculty members on their recent appointments, including Mustapha, while commending Azeez for the successful completion of his tenure.

According to Dr. Arikewuyo and Dr. Adeagbo, these developments reflect the faculty’s commitment to excellence and the continued growth of the Mass Communication discipline at the University of Ilorin.
