UNILORIN Set to Hold 266th Inaugural Lecture

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has announced that the university will host its 266th Inaugural Lecture on Thursday, October 10, 2024. The lecture will be delivered by Professor Onimisi E. Abdullahi from the Department of Social Sciences Education, Faculty of Education.

The event is scheduled to take place at 5:00 p.m. at the University Auditorium, Main Campus, University of Ilorin. The topic of the lecture is titled “A Psychological Perspective on the Systemic Inconsistencies in the Nigerian Educational System.”

Prof. Abdullahi, who holds degrees from prestigious institutions including Kano, Ibadan, and Ilorin, is expected to provide an in-depth analysis of the challenges within Nigeria’s educational system from a psychological viewpoint, focusing on the inconsistencies that affect the development and effectiveness of education in the country.

The lecture, chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, will be an opportunity for both members of the academic community and the general public to engage with critical issues in the nation's educational sector.
