The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has emphasized the need for African universities to adopt a ‘Glocalisation’ approach, urging them to pursue both global partnerships and local collaborations to enhance the continent’s development.

Speaking at the first International Partners’ Week Celebration at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana on November 1, 2024, Prof. Egbewole highlighted the importance of balancing global perspectives with local actions in the internationalisation of higher education.

He called for thoughtful Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and urged African governments to facilitate research mobility through streamlined visa processes. The event gathered international partners from across the globe to strengthen existing collaborations and foster new connections.
