Prof. Ruth Haruna Wazis, the former Head of the Department of Business Management at the University of Maiduguri, has passed away.

Prof. Ruth Haruna Wazis, the former Head of the Department of Business Management at the University of Maiduguri, has passed away. The Borno State Police Command confirmed her demise, revealing that she lost her life in an accident at her home.
According to CP Yusuf Lawal, the State Commissioner of Police, the unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Prof. Wazis was parking her car in her garage when a sudden mechanical malfunction caused the vehicle to accelerate unexpectedly. The car knocked her to the ground, resulting in serious injuries to her chest.

Despite efforts to rush her to the hospital, Prof. Wazis tragically succumbed to her injuries before medical assistance could be provided. Her remains were later taken to the hospital by her grieving family members.
