The initiative, aimed at promoting a vibrant research culture within the institution, seeks to encourage impactful projects with potential societal benefits.

The Vice Chancellor of Uniosun, Clement Adebooye, announced the allocation of N500,000 for students whose research proposals stood out for their originality, feasibility, and potential societal impact. This funding is part of Uniosun’s broader strategy to empower students in addressing real-world challenges through innovative research initiatives.

Adebooye highlighted the rigorous selection process, which involved a call for proposals from all final-year students, followed by thorough evaluation by a distinguished Management Committee. The selected projects were deemed promising for their ability to contribute significantly to their respective fields and society at large.

One of the awarded projects focuses on "Biogas Production from Cattle Dung for Processing Shelf-Stable Sausage Treated with Indigenous Medicinal Leaves," aiming to develop an environmentally sustainable method of producing biogas from cattle waste. Another project aims to design a "Locally Fabricated Programmable Voltage-Current Loop Calibrator System" within the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

The Vice Chancellor congratulated the awardees and urged them to collaborate closely with their supervisors to ensure the successful execution of their research endeavors.
