UNIUYO Announces Increased Convocation Fees
The University of Uyo has announced new convocation charges for its 29th and 30th combined ceremonies. Graduands will pay up to N150,000.00, with specific fees set at N100,000.00 for Ph.D. degrees, N50,000.00 for Master’s degrees, and N30,000.00 for Postgraduate Diplomas.

The University of Uyo has recently unveiled the updated charges for its 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies, as approved by Vice-Chancellor Professor Nyakudo Ndaeyo. The new fee structure, which has sparked significant concern among graduands, includes:
- First degree, Diploma and Certificate: N30,000.00
- Master’s Degree: N50,000.00
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD):
i. Convocation Gown: 100,000
ii. Convocation Fees: 50,000
Total - 150,000
These charges encompass various costs, including convocation materials, alumni fees, orderly services, certificate folders, convocation brochures, academic gown rentals, and the overall convocation fee.
Notably, the total cost for participation has now reached N150,000.00, which many students and stakeholders are finding to be quite high. This significant increase has raised concerns regarding affordability and accessibility for all graduating students.
