University of Abuja Elects Representatives to Governing Council
The University of Abuja has successfully conducted elections to fill its internal representation on the 11th Governing Council. Six members were elected, comprising four Senate representatives and two Congregation representatives.
Elected Representatives:
- Senate Representatives:
- Prof. Sunday P. Ejaro (Department of Geography, Faculty of Social Science)
- Prof. Abdulhamid Ozohu-Suleiman (Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Management Sciences)
- Prof. Ashom M. Maisamari (Department of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Education)
- Prof. Simon Enem (Department of Public Health, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine)
- Congregation Representatives:
- Dr. Patrick Uju (University Health Centre)
- Prof. Musa Olaofe (Department of Islamic Studies)
The elected members will join four external members appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, led by Senator Dr. Olanrewaju Tejuoso. The external members include:

- Prof. Rosemary Iriowen Egonmwan (South South)
- Dr. Adedeji Adefuye (South West)
- Prof. Sarki Abba Abdulkadir (North West)
- Prof. Aminu Mohammed Dukku (North East)
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Patricia Manko Lar, congratulated the newly elected representatives, expressing confidence in their ability to contribute to the university's governance and growth. The full Governing Council is expected to be formally inaugurated next week .
