University of Abuja Implements End-of-Year Accommodation Plan; Mandates Student Relocation for Renovations

The University of Abuja (now Yakubu Gowon University, Abuja) Student Affairs Division has issued an internal memorandum outlining a mandatory contingency plan for student accommodation during the upcoming Christmas and end-of-year vacation period.

Dated December 16, 2025, the notice informs all students that existing hostels will be closed for essential repairs, renovation, and reduced utility consumption during the break.

The University Management stressed that strict compliance with the directive is necessary to avoid inconvenience or loss of items. The memorandum explicitly states that the management will not be held responsible for any belongings left unsecured in closed hostels.
