The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma who led the team, in his welcome address noted that, the UAT Ofoni Campus would grant the Faculty of Agriculture the required landmass necessary to carry out farming activities in addition to giving every student of agriculture a space to cultivate crops. He said the initiative was born out of a senate decision, to begin the process of moving into the facility.
Members of the management team however decried the state of damage of some of the facilities and used the opportunity to call on the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo who is also an Indigene of the Ofoni Community, to use his good office to intervene in the renovation of some of the facilities within the Campus, such as completion of the road network.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor ceased the opportunity to appreciate the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri for graciously approving funds for the accreditation exercise for the Faculty of Agriculture, Chemistry and Guidance and Counseling who have interim accreditation at the moment.
