The Faculty of Arts and Education of the University of Africa Toru-orua (UAT) has taken the orientation programme for students of the faculty to another enviable level.

In his opening remark, the Acting Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Torupere Koroye informed the students that the orientation programme is further organized to give the students the opportunity to know in details career opportunities imbedded in their choice courses of study. He introduced the six departments in the faculty and their various programmes, while also adding that plans to introduce more programmes is already underway.

He hinted that the Faculty of arts and education is the heartbeat of the University, because all other students of the university must take a course in the faculty before graduation. He further urged the students to take their studies seriously.

The Heads of Department of History, Linguistics, Educational Management, Guidance and Counseling, English and Literary Studies, and Theatre and Film studies took turns to enlighten the students on the importance of the courses as well as career opportunities that can be towed in their line of study.

Discussions ranged around the dress code of the faculty, the university’s’ grading system, course registration, proper documentation/filling and the importance of attending lectures were all stressed.

High point of the event was the surprise visit of the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University at the orientation venue, his own mother faculty as his presence added more colour to the event.

The AVC used the opportunity to inform students that the admission window for the 2023/24 academic session is still open at UAT and hurged them to encourage their friends to change to UAT.
