University of Maiduguri Chancellor Visits Shehu of Borno Ahead of Convocation and Golden Jubilee

The Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri and Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness Justice Muhammadu Sidi Bage II, paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Shehu of Borno on Wednesday, 26th November 2025, ahead of the University’s 25th Combined Convocation and 50th Golden Jubilee celebrations.

The Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri and Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness Justice Muhammadu Sidi Bage II, paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Shehu of Borno on Wednesday, 26th November 2025, ahead of the University’s 25th Combined Convocation and 50th Golden Jubilee celebrations.

During the visit, the Chancellor sought fatherly counsel and encouragement from the Shehu as preparations for the milestone events intensify. The delegation accompanying Justice Bage included members of the University’s Governing Council, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, and other principal officers of the institution.

In his remarks, the Shehu of Borno pledged full support for the upcoming convocation and anniversary celebrations. He commended the University of Maiduguri for its contributions to education and the socio-economic development of the region and directed all district heads under the Borno Emirate to participate fully in the scheduled activities.
