University of Maiduguri Hosts 2nd International Conference on Management Sciences

The Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Maiduguri, has successfully launched its 2nd International Conference, with the theme "Harnessing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) towards Expanding Economic Frontiers, Opportunities, Challenges, and Emerging Solutions."

The conference was officially declared open by His Excellency Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, represented by the Head of Service, Dr. Mohammed Ghuluze .

In his welcome address, the Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Shehu Mustapha Liberty, expressed gratitude to the special guest of honor, the Executive Governor of Borno State, for accepting their invitation. Prof. Liberty also welcomed the keynote speaker, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, whose expertise in cybersecurity and digital economy was expected to enrich the discussions.

The conference featured technical sessions with presentations by notable experts, including:

- Defining a Workable Pathway for Achieving Sustainable Raw Materials Management Practices in Nigeria: Prof. Nnanyelugo Martin Ike-Muonso, Director-General of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC)

- Achieving Sustainable Green Economy: Prof. Cecilia Olukemi Yekini, Aston University, Birmingham, United Kingdom

- Sustainability in Africa and Beyond: Andrey Bogdanov, CEO of Risk Insights, South Africa

Awards of appreciation were given to prominent personalities for their contributions to the conference's success. Prof. Zulum wished the conference participants fruitful deliberations and declared the 2nd International Conference open.
