University of Port Harcourt Denies False Recruitment Reports

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has refuted false reports of ongoing recruitment for teaching and non-teaching positions. In a statement released on September 16, 2024, Dr. Sam Kpenu, the university's spokesperson, clarified that no such recruitment advertisements have been issued and labeled the reports as fraudulent.

 The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has officially debunked recent claims circulating on social media regarding ongoing recruitment for teaching and non-teaching positions. The university's management has issued a statement categorically denying the existence of any such recruitment efforts.

Dr. Sam Kpenu, the university's spokesperson, addressed the misleading reports in a press release issued on Monday. He clarified that no recruitment advertisements have been authorized or released by the institution, labeling the reports as the work of fraudsters aiming to deceive the public.

“The attention of the management of the University of Port Harcourt has been drawn to a publication making the rounds on social media suggesting that the university is recruiting staff,” Kpenu stated. “We want to unequivocally state that these claims are false. Members of the public are therefore enjoined to distance themselves from such misleading publications, which are likely the work of fraudulent individuals targeting unsuspecting members of the public.”

Dr. Kpenu emphasized that any genuine recruitment by the university would be announced through official channels, including the institution's website and reputable media outlets. “The University of Port Harcourt will officially announce any recruitment opportunities through mainstream media channels and on its official website, www.uniport.edu.ng, should there be a need for employment in the future,” he added.
