In a concerted effort to enhance campus safety and security, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Carol Arinze-Umobi has launched several initiatives to protect the university community. On Monday, September 9, 2024, Professor Arinze-Umobi visited the university’s Safety Unit, where she was warmly received by Chief Safety Officer Mr. Ken Chukwurah and his team.

During her visit, Professor Arinze-Umobi reiterated her commitment to ensuring a secure environment for both students and staff. She emphasized that the protection of the university community is a top priority for her administration.

Key measures outlined by the Acting Vice-Chancellor include strengthening security along the university's perimeter, improving walkway lighting, and implementing additional strategic security enhancements. She highlighted the need for a proactive approach to campus safety, particularly focusing on student security.
