UNIZIK Graduates 7,091 Students at 18th Convocation,29 Bag First Class

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, graduated 7,091 students during its 18th convocation held on Friday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Charles Esimone announced that 29 students graduated with First Class honors, while 96 received postgraduate diplomas, 391 earned master’s degrees, and 251 obtained doctoral degrees. Additionally, 23 students graduated with Second Class honors.
Prof. Esimone, addressing the convocation for the last time as Vice-Chancellor, reflected on his tenure and achievements. He outlined his vision to make the university one of the best in Nigeria and among the top 10 in Africa through academic excellence, community service, administrative reforms, discipline, and advancements. He noted the decentralization of the admission process and matriculation ceremonies, which improved efficiency and reduced attrition.

In his remarks, Chancellor His Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba praised Esimone for his leadership and accomplishments, expressing hope that the new Vice-Chancellor would continue to build on these successes.
