Mr. Kwayi, in an exclusive interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja, vehemently denied reports suggesting that authorities within the department extort students, particularly those pursuing postgraduate studies.
"I am pursuing a doctorate degree in the above-named department and have not been extorted nor solicited by any lecturer in the department," Kwayi stated firmly. Refuting specific allegations, Kwayi addressed claims that PhD students were required to pay ₦500,000 to secure a thesis topic, labeling such assertions as baseless and lacking factual merit. He did, however, acknowledge voluntary contributions made by both undergraduate and postgraduate students towards departmental legacy projects.
