UNN SUG Director of Welfare Akogwu Ojochegbe Announces Opening of New Hostel

In a recent announcement from the Student Union Government (SUG) of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Comr. Akogwu Harrison Ojochegbe, the Director of Welfare, has revealed that a newly commissioned hostel will soon be opened for student applications. This news comes as a relief to many students who have been eagerly awaiting additional accommodation options on campus.
The Director of Welfare, in his statement, emphasized the importance of remaining calm during this transition period. He reassured students that their welfare remains the utmost priority of the SUG. However, in a stern warning, he also addressed the issue of hostel racketeering, stating that any student found guilty of such misconduct will face severe punishment in accordance with university regulations.

Hostel racketeering, a practice where individuals exploit the demand for accommodation by illegally reserving or selling hostel spaces, undermines the fair allocation of housing resources and creates unnecessary stress for students. By cracking down on this behavior, the SUG aims to ensure a transparent and equitable process for all students seeking accommodation on campus.
