Usmanu Danfodiyo University Appoints 16 New Professors and 17 Readers

The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has announced the appointment of sixteen academic staff to the rank of Professor and seventeen others to the position of Reader during its 169th meeting. 

Among the newly appointed professors are:

1. Professor Abubakar Ngaski Abdullahi - Professor of Agricultural Economics

2. Professor Abdullahi Aminu Umar - Professor of Monogastric Animal Nutrition

3. Professor Aliyu Malami - Professor of Arabic Grammar

4. Professor Abubakar Yasin - Professor of Economic History

5. Professor Anka Sule Aliyu- Professor of Botany

6. Professor Jibrin Danjuma Usman - Professor of Anatomy

7. Professor Balarabe Adamu Isah- Professor of Community Health

8. Professor Abubakar Murtala Bello - Professor of Physiology

9. Professor Mohammed Umar- Professor of Anatomic Pathology

10. Professor Abubakar Umar Musa - Professor of Hematology and Blood Transfusion

11. Professor Burodo Alhaji Tanko Ahmed- Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology

12. Professor Abubakar Kabiru - Professor of Ethno-pharmacology

13. Professor Nakone Bello- Professor of Space Dynamics

14. Professor Usman Halima- Professor of Computational Fluid Dynamics

15. Professor Murtala Abubakar Gada - Professor of Hydrology and Water Resources

16. Professor Abdullahi Bello - Professor of Veterinary Anatomy

Additionally, the following individuals have been appointed to the rank of Reader:

1. Dr. Almu Abba- Reader in Information Retrieval

2. Dr. Nura Abubakar Alumi - Reader in Human Resource Management

3. Dr. Musa Isa Abubakar- Reader in Agricultural Economics

4. Dr. Naziru Ibrahim Abbas - Reader in Hausa Language

The appointments reflect the university’s commitment to advancing academic excellence and research. The announcement was made on October 17, 2024, by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bashiru Garba.
