FULafia Organizes Anti-Corruption Workshop for Staff

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), through its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), has conducted a sensitisation workshop aimed at fostering integrity and curbing corrupt practices within the institution.

The event, titled "Corruption and Integrity: A Broad Context of Moral Principles in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria," was held at the MIS Multipurpose Hall, Permanent Site Campus, and attended by staff members.

Declaring the workshop open, Vice-Chancellor Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity in university operations. He reaffirmed his commitment to combating corruption across areas such as teaching, examinations, contract awards, admissions, and employment.
Representing the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu (SAN), Mr. Tiku Menge highlighted ACTU's role in fostering ethical standards and urged staff and students to embrace transparency and good governance.
The workshop featured presentations by resource persons, including Professor Samaila Dakyes and Dr. Bello Dauda, who addressed the impact of corruption on Nigeria’s development and the importance of moral principles in tertiary institutions.
ACTU Chairman, Professor Ibrahim Ogiri Hassan, praised the university’s leadership for supporting anti-corruption efforts and ensuring accountability in compliance with ICPC regulations.
The event concluded with an award presented to the vice-chancellor by the ICPC Chairman, recognizing the institution's commitment to advancing transparency and integrity.
