Vice Chancellor Of BUK Prof Sagir Adamu Felicitates For Three Years In Office

On Friday 18th August 2023, is a day to alert one and all that the Vice Chancellor; Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, FMAN, has come a long way in providing leadership to the university community. Yes, the Vice Chancellor is three years in office today. The Vice Chancellor and his management team are unrelenting in giving the needed direction for the development of the university.

Having said that, it's important to unveil some of the modest achievements recorded by the Vice Chancellor in the last twelve months – from August 2022 to August 2023. This report, therefore, will review academic activities, administrative accomplishments, staff and students' welfare, completed and ongoing projects, and other important events that took place during the period under review.

Of course, Bayero University, Kano scored a number of positives that cannot go without mention as well as some collaborations and awards. But before going into details of the modest achievements, the Vice Chancellor wishes to unstintingly appreciate members of the University community for their patience, forbearance and commitment to the survival and growth of the University notwithstanding the excruciating discomfort arising from the withheld salaries by the Federal Government, high cost of living, lack of adequate power supply as well as certain basic necessities of life over the last couple of months. The Vice Chancellor stated that the management of the university was not unaware of the difficult times. And in spite of the hard-hitting situation, the management was able to conclude the academic session successfully as planned. A new session – the 2022/2023 academic session – has just taken off. Management has come up with some far-reaching palliatives to assist both staff and students to mitigate the effect of the suffering, especially regarding transportation.
