This groundbreaking initiative, announced in a statement on Thursday, emphasized the commitment of the terminal operator to address the stigma and obstacles associated with menstruation, particularly within educational settings.

Highlighting the rationale behind the program, the terminal operator emphasized the detrimental impact of menstruation-related challenges on female students' academic pursuits. "Many female students miss classes and sometimes examinations because they are menstruating," the statement read.

Moreover, the financial burden posed by conventional disposable pads exacerbates the situation, with costs ranging between $1.3 and $1.9 per pack, rendering them unaffordable for many girls. This disparity not only perpetuates the stigma surrounding menstruation but also hampers girls' educational opportunities.

"However, with the large population of the school, we were only able to train 150 students," stated Okwuofu, a representative of the terminal operator. "To further support them, we provided a pack of reusable eco-friendly sanitary pads to each trainee to add to what they were able to produce themselves."

This gesture aims to enhance the students' production capacity, enabling them to manufacture more sanitary pads and alleviate the challenges faced by their peers.
