David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital (DUFUTH), Uburu, has hosted Radiography students from Evangel University on an educational excursion aimed at providing practical knowledge and professional exposure.

The visit formed part of activities marking the Radiography Students' Week celebration at Evangel University and offered participants the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting.
Speaking during the visit, the students' leader, Mr. Chisimdi Peter, said the excursion was organised to expose students to the various imaging modalities available in the hospital's Radiology Department. He noted that the students also sought to observe the operation of advanced radiology equipment, interact with practising radiographers, interns and fellow students, and acquire practical knowledge beyond the classroom.
The Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee of DUFUTH, Dr. Darlington-Peter Ugoji, who received the delegation, commended the students for incorporating a hospital visit into their Radiography Students' Week activities.
Dr. Ugoji stressed the importance of academic excellence, describing it as the foundation for success in every profession. He encouraged the students to strike a balance between their academic pursuits and leadership responsibilities while making the most of the excursion to deepen their understanding of radiography through practical experience.

He also urged them to embrace innovation by identifying gaps within the profession and developing solutions capable of improving healthcare delivery.
In his remarks, the Head of Radiology Services, Rad. Victor Chukwu, advised the students to remain committed to their studies, emphasising that academic excellence should remain their top priority.
He disclosed that DUFUTH is equipped with about 99 per cent of the facilities required in a modern radiology department, making it an ideal environment for practical learning. He also appreciated the hospital management for supporting the educational visit and encouraged the students to actively engage during the facility tour by asking questions and interacting with professionals.

The excursion concluded with an interactive tour of the hospital's Radiology Department, where the students observed various diagnostic imaging equipment and interacted with radiography professionals on the practical aspects of clinical practice.
