 In a significant move towards promoting sustainable agricultural practices and technological advancement, Wafroex Ltd, an Agro-Allied organization, has extended its philanthropic gesture to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), by donating a substantial number of beehives.

The ceremony, symbolizing the commencement of a promising collaboration between the two institutions, unfolded on March 11, 2024, at the office of the Vice-Chancellor.

Led by Mr. Abdulrahman Shomala, the Project Manager of Wafroex Ltd, the meeting underscored the company's mission and dedication to sustainable development, highlighting the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aspect of the initiative.

Mr. Shomala, a distinguished alumnus of FUNAAB, elucidated on the integration of beekeeping with technology for measurable growth, aligning the initiative with Wafroex's vision of revolutionizing beekeeping in Nigeria.

Founded by Omar Lababidi and Samir Lababidi, Wafroex Ltd aims to introduce innovative approaches to beekeeping in Nigeria.

Expressing excitement about the collaboration, Mr. Shomala anticipated a fruitful partnership with his alma mater.

In response, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, warmly welcomed the Wafroex Team, commending their efforts in promoting sustainable agriculture.

Prof. Kehinde highlighted FUNAAB's recent recognition as the best University of Agriculture in Africa and the 7th best globally, emphasizing the institution's dedication to excellence in agricultural research and education.

Grateful for the donation, Prof. Kehinde assured the Wafroex Team of FUNAAB's commitment to safeguarding the project and ensuring its success. He acknowledged the expertise of Prof. Adebola Osipitan, a specialist in beekeeping, and outlined the University's plans to support research and production in this emerging field.
