McPherson University has launched a Quarterly Health Education Programme for members of staff as part of efforts to promote staff welfare and encourage a healthier work environment.

The initiative, approved by the university management, is designed to improve health awareness, promote healthy lifestyle practices and support the overall well-being of staff. The programme will be held every quarter for 30 minutes immediately after the Wednesday Chapel Service.
The maiden edition took place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, following the university's weekly staff devotion.
The inaugural session was facilitated by Dr. Olusola Deborah, who delivered a health talk on hypertension.
During the presentation, she educated participants on the causes, risk factors, warning signs, prevention and management of hypertension. She also highlighted the importance of regular blood pressure checks, healthy eating, physical exercise, effective stress management and early medical intervention in reducing the risk of complications associated with the condition.
Speaking after the presentation, Vice-Chancellor Professor Francis Igbasan underscored the importance of routine medical check-ups and healthy nutrition as key components of a healthy lifestyle.

He encouraged members of staff to take proactive steps toward protecting their health and urged them to take full advantage of the university's Quarterly Health Education Programme.
