Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Alumni Association Board of Trustee (BOT) recently paid a courtesy visit to the Rector of the institution, to felicitate with on his new appointment.

Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Alumni Association Board of Trustee (BOT) recently paid a courtesy visit to the Rector of the institution, to felicitate with on his new appointment.

The Alumni BOT was led by its Chairman, Wing Commander Ajayi Rtd, alongside other members of the executive on a courtesy visit. In his remarks, the BOT Chairman noted with dismay the shabby treatment meted to the association by the previous administration of the College. He said that the cordial relationship that should exist between the College and Alumni was no longer there, because of the attitude of the management towards the association.

The BOT Chairman prayed for a change in the relationship with the administration of the institution. He presented a position paper to the Rector which contained the association's grievances with the College. He implored the Rector to carefully and painstakingly study the paper and act on it accordingly.

 In his response, the Rector thanked the BOT for felicitating him on his appointment. He also praised the BOT for working towards amending the strained relationship between the College and the association. Abdul hinted that having a cordial relationship with the Alumni is part of his ERECT agenda; he appreciated the association for the move for a cordial relationship and assured the association that the management will thoroughly study the paper and take a positive decision on it. According to him, “The usefulness of the Alumni cannot be underestimated, because there are enormous benefits derivable in having a smooth relationship with the association".

 He disclosed that a vibrant and working Alumni is a necessary antidote for the growth and development of higher institutions such as YABATECH.
