Yakubu Ibrahim Khalifa Sworn In as SRC President of Federal University of Education, Zaria
Comrade Yakubu Ibrahim Khalifa has been officially sworn in as the President of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), Federal University of Education, Zaria, in a colorful inauguration ceremony attended by university officials, staff, students, and dignitaries.
In his address, Khalifa expressed gratitude to God, the university management, his mentors, and fellow students for their support. He praised the immediate past SRC leadership under Comrade Shehu Sani for a smooth transition and pledged to build on its successes.
Promising an inclusive and student-focused administration, Khalifa unveiled a 13-point agenda that will prioritize affordable internet access, skills development, improved healthcare, hostel water supply, campus security, digitalization of academic records, and fair price regulation within the university.
He also appealed to management to address the security challenges faced by off-campus students in Gyallesu and Anguwan Almajirai, as well as delays in the release of results from affiliate universities such as ABU Zaria and UDUS Sokoto.
"This is a new chapter for our university and every student whose aspirations are tied to its progress. My administration will be full of ideas, vision, sustainability, and accountability. Together, we will elevate this institution to new heights,” Khalifa said.
The event ended with a resounding call: “Long live SRC, long live FUEZ, long live Nigeria.”
