100-year-old man breaks world record for working in the same company for 84 years, does not plan to retire

Walter Orthmann, a 100-year-old man from Brazil, has achieved an extraordinary feat by breaking the Guinness World Record for working continuously with a single company for an astounding 84 years. Orthmann's remarkable dedication and longevity in his career were recognized earlier this month as he celebrated his centenary.

The centenarian began his remarkable journey with RenauxView (formerly Industrias Renaux S.A) in 1938 and has since remained an integral part of the company's legacy. In recognition of this unparalleled achievement, Walter Orthmann was officially acknowledged by the Guinness World Records as the oldest person alive to have served a single company for 84 consecutive years.

Reflecting on his "proudest achievement," Orthmann shared the story of his early introduction to the workforce. In 1938, at the age of 14, he embarked on his professional journey, guided by the societal expectation that children contribute to supporting their families. Under the guidance of his mother, Orthmann secured a job at a weaving mill, showcasing his proficiency in German, which led to his immediate employment.

Over the decades, Walter Orthmann's commitment and work ethic propelled him through various roles within the company, eventually reaching the position of Sales Manager. He attributed his enduring success to the simple philosophy of enjoying one's work and staying focused on the present.
