In Umuahia, Abia State, a new tenant who recently moved into a residential building disappeared with four children belonging to three different families. The mysterious disappearance occurred just three days after the unknown tenant, accompanied by another person presumed to be her sister or friend, moved into the building.

In a shocking incident that has left a community in Umuahia, Abia State, in disbelief, a new tenant who recently moved into a residential building disappeared with four children belonging to three different families. The mysterious disappearance occurred just three days after the unknown tenant, accompanied by another person presumed to be her sister or friend, moved into the building.

The tenants, all women and traders in Umuahia, recounted the unusual behavior of the suspects who, within the first two days, seemingly integrated into the community by playing with children, buying them gifts, and even going as far as running errands with one of the older children who later managed to escape abduction.

According to Madam Ifeanyi Uduma, one of the affected mhers, the suspects appeared to be friendly and caring, endearing themselves to the rest of the neighbors. However, suspicions arose when it was noticed that the new tenants had minimal belongings - only a camp gas, a small foam, and a mat, along with a small bag suspected to contain their clothes.

The suspects, identified as dark and fat with bleaching marks on her legs, allegedly engaged in friendly gestures towards the children, providing them with food and drinks. They even dressed one of the children in a distinctive white cloth with red spots, a detail that raised concerns among the mothers.

On the day of the disappearance, one of the suspects left with a sack bag containing clothes, and when questioned about her destination, claimed she was going to buy items at the city center. The other suspect, described as a little slim, reportedly vanished with the four abducted children while the fat suspect engaged the children in play.

Distraught and concerned mothers, including Blessing Peter Obasi, who had her grandchild taken, immediately reported the incident to the police. The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the incident in a press statement, revealing that arrests have been made, and an ongoing investigation is aimed at determining the whereabouts of the missing children.

However, the police advised the public to promptly report such occurrences to the police control room before physically visiting the station. They also cautioned against entrusting underage children to unfamiliar individuals and urged vigilance when minors are seen with adult companions.
