1,068 AEFUNAI Students Receive ₦193 Million NELFUND Loan

1,068 students at Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike (AEFUNAI) have received ₦193,377,100 under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Elom, confirmed the disbursement, which is part of the first batch of loans aimed at supporting students' academic pursuits.

The Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike (AEFUNAI), located in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, has received ₦193,377,100 for 1,068 students under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) students loan programme.

This development was confirmed by the Vice Chancellor of AEFUNAI, Prof. Sunday Elom, in an official letter addressed to NELFUND. According to the letter, the sum is part of the first batch of disbursements aimed at supporting students' academic pursuits.

"I hereby confirm that our University received payment for 1,068 students amounting to ₦193,377,100.00 as first batch disbursement under the students loan programme on 9th September, 2024," the letter read.

The receipt of this loan fund has been shared across NELFUND’s social media channels, signifying a milestone in the programme’s execution. This disbursement quells previous allegations that Southeast students were being excluded from the scheme.
