1,187 Cadets Graduate from Nigeria Police Academy, Commissioned as Assistant Superintendents of Police
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander‑in‑Chief of the Armed Forces, commissioned 1,187 cadets of Regular Course 7 into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) on 29 November 2025. The Passing‑Out Parade was held at the Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State, marking the successful completion of five years of intensive academic and professional training.
The cadets — now holders of bachelor’s degrees in various disciplines — were equipped with both academic qualifications and policing skills to serve the nation effectively.
Represented by Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, CON, President Tinubu congratulated the newly commissioned officers, urging them to uphold integrity, professionalism and respect for human rights. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to police reform, improved welfare for personnel and enhanced operational capabilities.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including the Head of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Shanta Emily Knowles, Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, representatives of the Chief of Defence Staff and service chiefs, members of the National Assembly, senior government officials, heads of sister security agencies, senior police officers (serving and retired), the Provost and academic faculty of the Nigeria Police Academy, traditional and religious leaders, parents and well‑wishers.
Inspector‑General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, congratulated the 1,187 new ASPs on their resilience, discipline and dedication. He reminded them that effective policing rests on character, discipline and professionalism, calling on them to protect lives and property, maintain law and order and rebuild public trust in the Nigeria Police Force. The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its resolve to continue producing highly trained, educated and professional officers capable of meeting contemporary security challenges.
