The Egbe Omo Oduduwa Inc. of South Florida (EOOI) has awarded scholarships to 27 final-year students of the University of Ibadan under the Deacon Oluwole Ale Memorial Scholarship Programme.

The scholarship award marks the third consecutive year that students of the University of Ibadan are benefiting from the programme.
Speaking during the presentation of the awards, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. K.O. Adebowale, mni, FAS, commended the Egbe Omo Oduduwa Inc. for their consistency in awarding the Deacon Oluwole Ale Memorial Scholarship annually since its introduction at the University. He noted that unlike many initiatives that fade after a short while, the EOOI scholarship has remained dependable, providing students with the needed support to complete their studies successfully.

Prof. Adebowale emphasized that the University can no longer rely solely on government funding and highlighted the importance of stronger partnerships with alumni, friends, and donors. He explained that initiatives such as the Omo Oduduwa Scholarship reduce financial burdens on students while also rewarding hard work, discipline, and service. He called on other groups and individuals to emulate this gesture.

He further congratulated the awardees, urging them to see the scholarship as motivation to excel in their academics and personal development.

Dr. Wale Alonge, who represented the President of Egbe Omo Oduduwa Inc. at the event, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting Nigerian students through the scholarship programme.
