Joshua Omale, a 300 level student of the Department of Accounting came 1st in the 800-word essay competition titled " It's time to discover Malaysia," beating 45 other contestants to the position.

According to information gathered by Myschoolnews, Joshua Omale, a  300 level student of the Department of Accounting came 1st  in the 800-word  essay competition titled " It's time to discover Malaysia,"  beating 45 other contestants to the position.

Congratulations to Joshua Omale, a  300 level student of the Department of Accounting, who emerged winner of an essay competition organised by the Malaysia High Commission, Abuja,  for the UofA students.

Joshua came 1st  in the 800-word  essay competition titled " It's time to discover Malaysia,"  beating 45 other contestants to the position.

Folaranmi Aslam Olubayo  picked the prize for the 2nd place, while  Badejo Olayinka came 3rd.

The winners of the competition were announced recently during the Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) Outreach Programme themed, "Colourful Malaysia, Warna-Warni Malaysia," jointly organised by the High Commission and the University of Abuja Centre for Asian Studies on the Main Campus.

The Malaysia High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ms Sharmini Devi Gopal, stated that the MTCP is part of the Malaysian government's policy and commitment to promoting technical cooperation among developing nations through human capacity development.    She said the MTCP provide scholarship to recipients  to study for both long and short- term courses in Malaysian universities and institutes in various areas such as agriculture, science, economy, finance, trade, technology and ICT,  among other fields of endeavours.

The she said the MTCP is an annual scholarship programme offered in May/June every year, adding that the University would be updated on upcoming scholarship offer.

Joshua Omale, while expressing  his excitement for wining the prize, said he would continue to fine tune his writing skill  and write more essays.
