64 Nigerians Graduate from Sudan International University and Hayat University College in Sokoto

A total of 64 Nigerians studying at Sudan International University (SIU) and Hayat University College graduated during a ceremony held in Sokoto State on Saturday. The event celebrated the presentation of certificates and awards to students, acknowledging their academic achievements amid the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

The partnership between SIU, Hayat University College, and Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) facilitated this initiative following the outbreak of conflict in Sudan on April 15, 2023. Governor Ahmed Aliyu, represented by the State Commissioner for Higher Education, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi, praised the graduates and reaffirmed the government's commitment to education, allocating one-third of the 2024 state budget to this sector.

Prof. Bashir Garba, Vice-Chancellor of UDUS, commended the collaboration that aided student success, while SIU President Prof. Bakri Osman expressed gratitude to UDUS and the Sokoto State Government for their support. Parents of the graduates also celebrated their children's accomplishments, encouraging them to serve humanity in their professional roles.

Dr. Muhammad Ali, a graduating student, received his certificate from Dr. Abdulgafar Saeed, the SIU representative in Nigeria. The ceremony underscored the resilience and commitment of the students to their education despite challenging circumstances.
