901 Graduates Emerge from Bowen University, 115 Earn First Class Honors
Bowen University in Iwo, Osun State, recently celebrated its 19th Convocation ceremony, graduating 901 students, including 115 who achieved First Class Honors.
Bowen University, located in Iwo, Osun State, celebrated its 19th Convocation ceremony, during which it graduated a remarkable 901 students. Among these, 115 students achieved the prestigious First Class Honors, marking a significant milestone for the institution.
Professor Jonathan Oyebamiji Babalola, the Vice-Chancellor of Bowen University, shared this achievement while addressing journalists. He noted that this latest graduation brings the total number of graduates since the university's establishment in 2006 to 17,686.
The 901 graduates received degrees spanning Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate levels across diverse academic disciplines. Professor Babalola highlighted the accomplishments of this year’s class, emphasizing the university's commitment to academic excellence. “Our graduates have worked hard, and their success is a testament to their dedication and the support of their families, friends, and our faculty,” he stated.
The breakdown of the graduating class includes 323 students who earned Second Class Upper Division, 192 who achieved Second Class Lower Division, 65 who graduated with Third Class honors, and 7 who graduated with Pass degrees.
Professor Babalola expressed confidence in the graduates’ readiness to make meaningful contributions to society. “We remain deeply committed to this legacy of excellence, producing first-rate graduates who distinguish themselves across multiple fields and bring honor to this institution,” he affirmed.
