Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has honored Samuel Badekale and Haroun Adebakin, the best graduating students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), by appointing them as Education Ambassadors of the state and awarding them N10 million each.

The duo, who achieved a remarkable 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), were recognized for their academic excellence during a reception held in their honor at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. Governor Abiodun stated that the gesture was aimed at encouraging other students to pursue academic excellence and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Speaking at the event, the governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to promoting education as a tool for poverty eradication and societal transformation. He lauded the students’ parents for instilling strong values in them and emphasized that the state would continue to support young scholars in their career progression.

Governor Abiodun also urged the awardees to take on mentorship roles, inspiring and guiding younger students to achieve similar academic feats.

Expressing their gratitude, both Badekale and Adebakin acknowledged the governor’s recognition and encouraged young Nigerians to remain dedicated to their studies. They emphasized that success is attainable through perseverance, hard work, and integrity.
