A Digital Dilemma: JAMB Candidates Battle Result Access Issues
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME candidates and their guardians have turned to social media, their voices echoing with frustration over the inaccessibility of their results via the SMS system.
In the digital age, where information is just a click away, a group of determined individuals find themselves locked in a battle with an unexpected adversary - technology. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME candidates and their guardians have turned to social media, their voices echoing with frustration over the inaccessibility of their results via the SMS system.
The JAMB X page has become a virtual town hall, filled with complaints about the difficulty in accessing results. Among the sea of voices, @AdeizaShehu stands out. She shares the plight of her friends who wrote the JAMB this year, “One result was withheld, and the other was under investigation. What is the cause of this, and is there any solution?” she queried.

Her words resonated with many others who are facing similar issues. They have also been receiving error messages when trying to access their results. Adding to their woes, the SMS system deducts the code fee of N50, yet they are left without a response. One parent adding her views, shared her experience, “I have been checking my daughter’s results since the announcement by the JAMB board using the Airtel number she used to register. To my surprise, JAMB didn’t send the result but deducted almost one thousand naira.”

Despite these challenges, the UTME candidates are not backing down. They are pushing for the JAMB body to address the issues they’ve highlighted. They’ve sent the UTME RESULT code numerous times, but their efforts have been in vain as they still can’t access their results.
In a bid to find a solution, they are advocating for an alternative - opening the JAMB portal. This, they believe, will enable them to access their results and print their result slips eliminating the "connection timed out" problem.
