The was a joint protest of both Academic and non-academic staff of the Edo state-owned University Ambrose Alli University (AAU), the protesters accused the Edo state Government of owning salaries of lecturers and none teaching staff of the institution, one of the protesting staff of the University carried an inscription caption '' ADAGBONYI MUST GO'' said  Some staff last got paid since January and March 2022, she further disclosed that the salary saga began before the 2022 ASUU STRIKE.myschoolnews reporting.

Academic and non-academic staff of the Edo state-owned University barricaded the university's main gate over 11 months of unpaid salary.

The staff of the institution is appealing to the state government to wade into the situation.
