Abia Deputy Governor Pledges Support for IMSU Alumni 2024 Convention

The upcoming Annual National Convention of the Imo State University Alumni Association (IMSUAA), slated for August 2024 in Umuahia, has received a significant boost from the Abia State government. Deputy Governor Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu has confirmed the active participation of prominent government appointees from Abia State in this prestigious event.
During a recent meeting with the leadership of IMSUAA's Abia chapter and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), chaired by Mr. Franklin Diala and Secretary Dr. Oby Comfort, Deputy Governor Emetu accepted the role of Patron for the Abia chapter. He also pledged his personal attendance at the convention, underscoring the government's commitment to fostering partnerships with reputable organizations like IMSUAA for societal development.

"Since assuming office, our administration has prioritized collaborations with credible associations like IMSUAA to enhance community welfare," stated Deputy Governor Emetu. "We refrain from affiliations aimed solely at accolades until we fulfill our mandate. IMSUAA, with its distinguished membership and verifiable credentials, aligns perfectly with our vision."

Furthermore, Deputy Governor Emetu assured IMSUAA of the government's support in ensuring a seamless and memorable convention in Umuahia, Abia State's capital.
In a related development, the IMSUAA delegation also visited Prof. Elechi Asawalam, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, who expressed enthusiasm for the convention's objectives. Prof. Asawalam pledged his commitment to contributing significantly to the success of the event and urged stakeholders and relevant groups to endorse the alumni association's initiatives for societal empowerment.
