Twin Brothers Graduate with First-Class Honours, Emerge as Top Scholars in University of Ibadan

In an extraordinary academic achievement, twin brothers Busoye Opegbemi Matthias and Busoye Tolulope Matthew have graduated with identical first-class degrees from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Ibadan, each attaining a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.94 out of 4.00. This remarkable feat positions them as the Best Graduating Students in both their department and Faculty for the 2023/2024 academic session.

Throughout their undergraduate studies, the twins demonstrated consistent academic excellence. In their 100 level, Matthias and Matthew achieved Cumulative Grade Point Averages (CGPAs) of 3.84 and 3.89, respectively. At 200 level, they recorded CGPAs of 3.92 and 3.94. In 300 level, their CGPAs were 3.95 and 3.93. At 400 level, they maintained CGPAs of 3.94 and 3.93, respectively. In their final year, both concluded with identical CGPAs of 3.94.

Beyond their academic pursuits, both brothers were actively involved in student leadership. Matthias served as the Honourable Speaker of the University of Ibadan Students’ Representative Council (UISU-SRC, 11th Assembly), while Matthew held the position of President of the Society of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Students (SEEEES-UI) for the 2023/2024 session.
