In response to the recent tragic incident involving the loss of a student's life in a clash between rival cult groups near Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu, Vice Chancellor Professor Maxwell Ogbulu has issued a resolute directive to the joint security forces operating within the university premises.
Professor Ogbulu has emphasized the urgent need to eliminate all forms of cult activities within the campus and bring the perpetrators of the heinous act to justice. He reiterated the university's unwavering commitment to maintaining zero tolerance for cultism, assuring students and staff of their safety under his administration.

The ABSU VC extended his appreciation to the Nigerian Army, the Police, ABSU security personnel, and the Senate Security Committee for their collaborative efforts in maintaining peace and security within the university community.

In a related statement, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the university, Lt Commander ThankGod Evurulobi, confirmed that the police have initiated measures to apprehend the suspects involved in the student's killing. Lt Commander Evurulobi expressed condolences to the bereaved family while urging parents to monitor their children's associations closely and encourage them to stay focused on their academic pursuits.
